This handheld “push-to-talk” microphone from Turner was likely used by amateur radio operators and short wave communicators. This looks like another good mic for talking Ted Striker down onto the runway. It recently sold on eBay for $15.

Turner made a number of microphones that became popular with harmonica players, including the Turner Challenger series (models BX, BD, CX, and CD). The BX and CX were crystal microphones, while the BD and CD were dynamic. The CX had a satin chrome finish; the one shown below recently sold on eBay for $64.
