Electro-Voice Cardyne II, Model 731

This microphone is a beast!  Seriously, you could really hurt someone with this thing.  Shure wasn’t the only  manufacturer to play with this element housing style — the Electro-Voice 731 “Cardyne II” (and the earlier 726 “Cardyne I”) were popular for recording and public address in the 1950’s and 60’s.  They were dynamic microphones which used a cardioid directional pickup pattern, hence the name “Cardyne.”  The item shown below is currently available recently sold on eBay for $192.50.
