In the early 1940’s, Electro-Voice introduced the “V Series” of rugged velocity microphones, sometimes referred to as “pressure gradient” mics. Designed for public address and communications, the V-1 became a popular radio broadcast microphone. As with all Electro-Voice velocity mics, the frame and internal mounting structure of the V-1 is a single die cast piece, rendering it particularly resistant to damage from bumps and mechanical shock. The item shown below recently sold on eBay for $210.50.
